Debut for new T Galleria Beauty by DFS concept

By Doug Newhouse |

DFS Group has formally announced the launch of its new 11,133sq ft T Galleria Beauty by DFS store at the Galaxy Macau, after it opened its doors on 27 May to add to the retailer’s two existing store presences at the Four Seasons and City of Dreams.

Asia’s leading DF&TR retailer said that the new luxury outlet concentrates exclusively on cosmetics, skincare and fragrances and plans to expand the concept to Hong Kong with a T Galleria Beauty by DFS presence at its Hysan Place outlet next month.

Commenting on the new development, Benjamin Vuchot, Region President, North Asia for DFS Group said: “We are delighted to be unveiling the world’s first T Galleria Beauty by DFS store which will offer an unrivalled new shopping experience, featuring the best selection of beauty brands and fragrances in the heart of Macau.

The new Galaxy Macau opened on 27 May and DFS will be hoping to capture some of its Chinese gamblers and tourists in a market which has been under pressure over the last year and a half.

“Our new store focuses on delivering an immersive experience to enhance the journey of our customers.”

The new store has been designed by French luxury retail design firm Malherbe to reflect an experiential world and will also feature the first Hermès Parfums and Hermès Le Bain stand-alone fragrance boutique in Macau.

A total of 22 world-renowned beauty brands will be on show, including Dior, Estée Lauder, Guerlain, Hermès, La Mer, La Prairie, and Lancôme. The retailer adds that DFS exclusives will also include Clé de Peau’s Radiance Trio Set and L’Occitane’s Perfect 10 Hand Cream Set.

DFS says that a total of 22 world-renowned beauty brands will be on show in the new store.

The company added: “DFS will also introduce its famed Beauty Concierge to T Galleria Beauty by DFS at Galaxy Macau. Beauty Concierge is a complimentary highly-bespoke service, which focuses on the customer’s personal needs and preferences.

“Customers will discover tailored services covering skin analysis, skin treatments, makeup consultation, personalised services, and specialty massages.”

The retailer is also naturally linking in its LOYAL T by DFS global luxury rewards programme which covers more than 700 brands in 26 airport and T Galleria by DFS stores in 10 countries across three continents.

It is also highlighting the 100% global guarantee that it has become famous for over many years – ensuring authentic merchandise and after-sales service right around the globe.

A dedicated make-up area.

Major fragrance houses and brands are also well represented.

The opening of this new Galaxy complex comes at a time when Macau’s casino owners are trying to increase the share of revenue that comes from non-gambling – which currently stands at less than 10%. In addition, some analysts are predicting a 21% decline in Macau Casino revenue this year, which if accurate, clearly signals that the growth train has slowed and in the short term at least, it is a market share game now for Chinese gamblers and tourists in Macau SAR.
