WH Smith has announced its first entry into Malaysia’s Southern Corridor with the opening of three stores at Senai International Airport.
Senai International Airport is located in the Johor state, which is the southern-most state of Malaysia, neighbouring Singapore.
The retailer will operate a combined store area of over 900sq m across the international and domestic departure lounges, along with a landside outlet.
These latest openings take the total in the country to 11 and further demonstrate the successful alliance between WH Smith and partner Bison Consolidated Berhad.
The new stores include local and international newspapers, magazines and books, digital products, souvenirs, snacks and drinks and a range of travel accessories.
WH Smith International Chairman Louis de Bourgoing commented: “We are delighted to be opening our first stores in Senai International Airport.
“The stores look fantastic and feedback from customers has been really positive. We very much look forward to continuing to work with our partner, Bison and further developing the WH Smith brand in Malaysia.”
