Lund: “I also believe we may well see a number of digital solutions in the future that will give passengers an even better travel experience than they have today.”

Copenhagen Airports has announced Rasmus Lund as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in a move to embrace new digital frontiers across its operations.

Lund, the former CFO at Saxo Bank, takes up the position on 1 December amid an extremely busy period of new construction projects, which include a comprehensive refresh of the Nordic hub’s commercial space [click here for coverage of Gebr. Heinemann’s recently opened tax free store at Terminal 2].

Thomas Woldbye, CEO, Copenhagen Airports said: “The future of airports and of travel will be much more digital. Just think about how most people do self check-ins, choose their seats, use bag drops and have their boarding cards on their smartphones. That’s not the way it was just a few years ago, and there is no indication that the process to digitalise the travel experience will stop here. That’s something the airport – and our new CFO – must be ready for.”

REQUISITE EXPERIENCE

Lund began his career with accounting firm Arthur Andersen and has taken in spells as Head of Corporate Reporting, Systems and Controlling at ISS, where he rose through the ranks to the position of Regional Finance Director.

He joined Saxo Bank in 2008 and was named Group CFO in 2012.

CPH invested DKK1.47bn in expansion activities in 2017, generating revenue of DKK4.4bn, as it tracks growing passenger numbers.

“Copenhagen Airport is a complex, busy and very exciting growth business, so finding a new CFO with the right profile, experience and competences was essential,” added Woldbye. “I’m very pleased to say that in Rasmus Lund, we found the ideal candidate.”

Lund added: “After spending a number of years in a very digital business like Saxo Bank, I’m now really looking forward to having so many new colleagues working in a variety of different jobs ranging from security and sales to cleaning and complex construction projects. Having said that, I also believe we may well see a number of digital solutions in the future that will give passengers an even better travel experience than they have today.”
