David Wilson will leave WGS’ GTR division.

Spirits industry leader David Wilson (right) will step down from his role as Managing Director Global Travel Retail at William Grant & Sons (WGS) in the coming months.

A statement confirms Wilson intends to channel more time and energy on the ‘next chapter’, consisting of ‘some exciting personal challenges and new business ventures’.

He was appointed to lead WGS’ global travel retail division in 2021, joining from the independent family owned premium spirits firm’s specialist private label Quality Spirits International.

Prior to that, he spent nearly five years as Managing Director Global Travel Retail at Beam Suntory.

“It has been a privilege to work with amazing people and brands over the last four decades, and I know I am leaving a great team and business with momentum at William Grant & Sons,” said Wilson.

“I am looking forward to the next chapter and I will of course remain close and active in the spirits business in a number of ways. I leave with my best wishes and thanks to William Grants & Sons and for their continued success.”
