French beauty house Guerlain has launched a new radiance boosting skincare ritual: the Abeille Royale Clarify & Repair Double Essence and Anti-Dark Spot Creme.

The new products have been developed in response to usage and attitudes studies*, which show that age spots and uneven skin tone are among the top 10 beauty and skincare concerns.

Guerlain’s signature Black Bee Repair technology remains at the heart of the Abeille Royale range, with this new dual action regimen drawing on the properties of rare white honey from the Kiawe tree, native to Hawaiian Islands.

The new ingredient gets to work on skin luminosity, smoothness, elasticity and firmness, among other concerns, to help restore radiance.

Combined with vitamin C derivatives and AHA (in the essence), the white honey becomes a ‘brightness-activating concentrate’ that targets pigmentation.

Beyond its protective properties, Beelab scientists say that white honey ‘reduces the melanin production at the origin of dark spots, dullness and uneven skin tone’.

For optimum results, the Clarify & Repair Double Essence should be applied first, followed by the Anti-Dark Spot Cream.

Studies have shown that visible results can be expected in eight weeks of regular use.

The Double Essence is presented in a recyclable glass bottle that incorporates 15% recycled materials.

The Clarify & Repair Creme is housed in an eco-designed refillable jar made from 20-40% recycled glass.

Each jar contains half the amount of glass compared to the 2016 generation of Abeille Royale creams.

Furthermore, the volume of the boxes has been optimally adjusted to retain only the essential packaging.

Guerlain has been helping to protect bees for over 10 years through its Guerlain for Bees Conservation Programme, which brings together 14 partnerships and various initiatives.

Abeille Royale Clarify and Repair began rolling out worldwide from 1 February (with full distribution for the cream and the essence available through ‘ultimate’ doors). The cream and the essence will land in Asia on 1 April.
