TRCONNECT logo 460x306Registration is now open for the second TRConnect webinar, which will focus on the necessary evolution of customer engagement in a post-Covid-19 travel retail context, both in-store and inflight.

The next session entitled, ‘Engaging customers across all touchpoints – physical, digital and human – in a post-Covid-19 context’ is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 2 June at 14.00 CET.

Following a hugely popular and successful first edition, which attracted 900 registrations, TRBusiness is delighted to announce that we have increased the capacity of our webinar platform to allow up to 1,000 participants to attend. The inaugural TRConnect webinar earlier in May reached full capacity with just over 500 attendees, who were able to watch live; more than 690 unique viewers have watched the recorded version after the event.

The second edition is set to be another compelling session, once again featuring a robust line-up of senior industry executives, including Ramesh Cidambi, Chief Operating Officer, Dubai Duty Free; Alan Brennan, Managing Director, dcGTR; Vimal Rai, inflight retail expert and Founder & Managing Director, TRACE Consulting and Clara Susset, Travel Retail Research Director at m1nd-set, TRBusiness’ exclusive insights partner for the TRConnect webinar series.

The session will once again be moderated by TRBusiness Editorial Director Charlotte Turner and Events and CSR lead, Michael Barrett.

The panellists will each share their insights, perspectives and ideas on how industry stakeholders will need to rethink the rules of customer engagement in a post-Covid-19 context. The 75-minute webinar, with extended Q&A to follow, will host discussions surrounding staff interaction, digital technology and physical retail merchandising, which will all need to evolve in order to entice passengers to shop when flights resume and stores reopen.

EXCLUSIVE RESEARCH – AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD

M1nd-set’s research will reveal what worked pre-Covid-19 and how engagement will need to evolve in a post-Covid-19 world. The three part presentation will look at experiential retail as a purchase driver and what constitutes an engaging retail experience for global passengers. It will also focus on the threat to the travel retail channel from online and conclude with an in-depth study of what customers say they will expect and appreciate most in terms of innovation in duty free stores. The presentation will aim to provide a better understanding of what experiential retail could and should look like in the future.

Ramesh Cidambi, Dubai Duty Free, Clara Susset, m1nd-set, Alan Brennan, dcGTR and Vimal Rai, TRACE, to enlighten delegates for TRConnect #2 on customer engagement in a post-Covid-19 world.

Technology will be instrumental in putting the retail experience into the hands of the shopper – and non-shopper – to boost footfall and e-conversion in a post-Covid-19 travel retail environment. Alan Brennan of digital marketing agency dcGTR will bring a more detailed focus on how digital interaction with both augmented and virtual reality can help retailers engage with passengers and overcome boundaries set by social-distancing and health and safety concerns.

Inflight retail expert Vimal Rai will reveal insights on what will influence passengers to buy on-board when travelling again, underlining the importance of investment into digital and data. He will also reflect on what the inflight business model will look like in a post-Covid-19 context.

Finally, Dubai Duty Free’s Ramesh Cidambi will share some of the post-Covid-19 recovery plans on what the world’s largest single-airport retailer has been working on in recent weeks as it prepares for store re-openings. He will also discuss what plans the retailer has to reassure and engage with customers in the post-Covid-19 context and ensure that sales resume strongly once passenger flow resumes.

Following the main event attendees will be invited to continue the interactive discussion with our speakers for a further 15-20 minutes.
