By Doug Newhouse |

Loch Lomond GTR small newMG Cellars Ltd is the new exclusive Asia Pacific travel retail distributor for the Loch Lomond Group Scotch whisky portfolio, after becoming ‘a significant player’ in the travel retail industry, according to the brandowner.

While MG Cellars was founded back in 1997, it was only appointed by the Loch Lomond Group last month, with the brandowner pointing to its success most ‘particularly in the Asian and Greater China region’.

Meanwhile, MG Cellars says it has more than ten wines and spirit brands in its portfolio, four regional offices, a Hong Kong-based bonded warehouse and a distribution network across 45 countries.

Commenting on the company’s appointment, MG Cellars Ltd President Kathleen Gentzbourger said: “For the APAC Liquor category, Brown Spirits – and particularly the single malt expression – is the largest trending growth driver. Our valued partners in the retail industry are looking for new offerings to address this demand and our aim is to offer a complete portfolio with quality and differentiation at the forefront.
