Lagardère grows electronics in Dusseldorf with more Tech2go stores

By Charlotte Turner |

Lagardère Travel Retail has opened two more Tech2go stores at Dusseldorf Airport – one airside and one landside – taking the total to four after the retailer won a Europe-wide tender at the beginning of the year.

The first two stores opened in May. The third Tech2go store with a sales area of almost 50s qm in Pier C accompanies existing Electronic Stores at Piers A and B.

Another, at 60sq m, has opened ahead of security checks, landside, which attracts customers from the nearby Airport City office and service location or visitors to the airport who aren’t necessarily passengers.

Both new units have been completely renovated and updated in line with the Tech2go design.

The selection of products in the new stores includes headphones, soundbars, travel adapters, charging cables, powerbanks, computer accessories, keyboards, cases for numerous devices, electronic beauty products and much more.

“We are pleased to have a strong partner at our side in Dusseldorf Airport, with whom we were able to set up four stores within just a few months,” said Jochen Halfmann, CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Germany.

“With a wide range of electronic devices and accessories, travellers have the opportunity to buy important equipment for their trip before departure or simply to discover new products.”

Thomas Schnalke, Chairman of the Management Board of Dusseldorf Airport adds: “We were already convinced of the idea and the corporate concept when the first two Tech2go stores opened at Dusseldorf Airport.

Lagardère Travel Retail now operates seven Tech2go stores in Germany, five of which opened this year. Four electronic stores are located at Dusseldorf Airport, two can be found at Hamburg Airport and one at Berlin Brandenburg Airport.
