Gateretail renews inflight retail partnership with Wizz Air for five years
By Faye Bartle |
In-flight retail expert gateretail has inked a new, five-year agreement with Wizz to deliver and manage the full onboard retail programme for Wizz Air.
It marks a renewal of the existing contract between the two parties.
Extending the partnership means the Budapest headquartered ultra-low-cost carrier will continue to benefit from gateretail’s full retail services as the ‘merchant on record’.
The gategroup brand utilises Last Mile Provider (LMP) management and digital platform solutions to provide a full connected galley and retail platform, which the company says is ‘unique in the market’.
“We are very grateful to partner up again with Wizz and disrupt the retail onboard service,” said gateretail’s Global Managing Director Fernando Guinea.
“We will bring Wizz’s customers solutions and services to their needs and drive higher degrees of profitability.
“Our unique retail digital platform and connectivity will unlock and disrupt the market at levels never seen before, by leveraging data across the retail value chain and providing a degree of personalisation and convenience that will wow Wizz’s passengers.”
Fast-growing Wizz Air is expanding globally, with its 500-strong fleet carrying 60.3 million passengers in 2023.
“As Wizz continues its record growth in new and existing markets, we are extremely focused on our core business,” said Head of Ancillary for Wizz Air, James Goodwin.
“This renewed partnership with gateretail will support a combined vision of ancillary contribution, passenger experience, and digitisation.”
