Travel Retail Awards 2020 gains major endorsements with new key sponsors
With just two weeks to go until the deadline for nominations, the 2020 edition of the industry’s first and only consumer-voted Travel Retail Awards has received a significant boost with a number of companies joining and renewing as sponsors.
As announced, Singapore Changi Airport has reaffirmed its support for the third consecutive year as Headline Sponsor.
Furla has signed up again as Platinum Sponsor, joining Distell, Duty Free Innovation, Foreo and Mars Wrigley.
Cabeau, Hanse Distribution, Lindt, Bluedog and Treasury Wine Estates have renewed as Gold Sponsors. They are joined by Champagne Laurent-Perrier, sponsoring for the first time in 2020.
SUSTAINABILITY AWARD: STRONG INTEREST
In addition, Chinese social media marketing platform Duty Free Expert bolsters the lineup as Social Media Partner, extending coverage of all awards’ news, including the finalists and the winners, to the travel retail industry across China in Chinese via its highly popular social media service on WeChat. Aside strong commercial backing, industry-wide support is flooding in evidenced by the large number of nominations already entered for the product category awards and the new ‘Best Green Initiative at an Airport Award’.
Airports, retailers, food & beverage concessionaires and brands will all be competing for the very first consumer-voted airport sustainability award.
As as reminder, ALL entrants in the awards will receive a full evaluation document from Swiss research agency m1nd-set, TRBusiness’ partner for the Travel Retail Awards.
The reports will provide detailed product feedback from global travelling consumers. All Platinum Sponsors will also receive their own bespoke consumer insights report from m1nd-set.
DEADLINE APPROACHING
The deadline for 2020 Travel Retail Awards nominations is 31 January and due to the popularity of the awards there will be no extension to this.
TRBusiness is calling all companies that haven’t done so already to enter their product or environmental initiative at an airport into the awards.
Judging will commence in early February with an esteemed panel of bloggers and 5,000 travelling consumers recruited from m1nd-set’s database of international travellers casting their eyes over each product and airport award.
Entries can be made via the Travel Retail Awards website in English here or Chinese here.
